The students are recognised and appreciated for their committment towards imbibing the IB Learner profile and attitudes and thus get certificates as a step to motivate them to constantly showcase these qualities.

Action in 3z

In the PYP, it is believed that education must extend beyond the intellectual to include not only socially responsible attitudes but also thoughtful and appropriate action.
Action in the PYP can also be deciding not to act, for example if during a unit on health a student realizes that a can of Coke with dinner is not the best choice and they opt for milk instead.
The Action Cycle of the Primary Years Programme
Action Cycle
The action cycle is the simple yet powerful tool used to teach children how to take action. By going through the three steps of choosing, acting and then reflecting back upon the results of their choice, students are able to grow socially and personally, developing skills such as cooperation, problem solving, conflict resolution and critical thinking. This is an important part of student's participation in their own learning.

Examples of some self initiated actions in grade 3z are given above

Creative minds at work

Students of grade 3z always utilise their free time in creating and exploring the manipulatives in class, thus utilising their time to the best.

Goal Setting in 3y

Students of 3Y are striving to reach for the stars. They have set some short term and realistic goals for themselves and are working hard to achieve them. As they show evidence of their effort to reach their goals the balloons with their names will float towards the stars!!!

Collaboration –The essence of PYP

Grade 3 is collaborating with an Australian school named “Kingston Health Primary School” to bring in the global perspective in classrooms.
Students from Australia have introduced themselves to our students through letters and our students have also sent their introductory letters.
Students from both schools are currently doing a unit under the transdisciplinary theme “Who We Are”.As the unit progresses we will be sharing a lot of ideas and thoughts with each other.
